A detour via Portland reveals over 200 Historic buildings, a Maritime Discovery Centre (detailing a history that goes back to 1834), the busy Portland Waterfront where local produce is loaded up and the fishing fleet unloads its early morning catch.
The Portland Powerhouse Vintage Car Museum provides a different historical twist with a large range of restored and classic vehicles. There are also excellent fishing and surfing to be enjoyed and nature lovers can get their fill at Cape Bridgewater, Mt Eccles National Park and Cape Neslon State Park.
These are some of the great destinations to see and things to do while travelling between Port Fairy and Portland. Be sure to add them to your list of places to visit.
