Bendigo - Stawell (1 day)
On the way to Stawell, Maryborough's old railway station now houses a Regional Wine Centre, a cafe and an antique emporium. There you will also find the Central Goldfields Regional Art Gallery (located in the old firehouse) inside the town while in the nearby area award wining wineries can be found as well as reservoirs where the trout ready to challenge any eager fisherman.
 
Just before reaching Stawell you will pass through Ararat, the only Australian town to have been founded by Chinese immigrants. Along with more National Trust acknowledged architecture, you'll find the Ararat Regional Art gallery, the Chalambar Golf Club and the Challicum Hills wind farm.  The unique Chinese heritage of the town can be explored at the Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre and the Langi Morgala Museum.
